Research seminar at Bath Spa University

Caroline Kuhn, a senior lecturer at the school of education, and two of the three co-researchers on this one-year EPSRC funded research project: Understanding data: Praxis and Politics share their initial findings on designing and piloting an open educational resource (OER) aimed at fostering critical data literacy for HE educators. This transnational collaboration involved four strategic partner institutions in Kenya, Barcelona, Uruguay and England.

The seminar starts with a brief presentation outlining what are OERs and Open Pedagogy explaining the importance of the UNESCO OER recommendation and what it means for post-pandemic education (the OER recommendations recommendation supports the creation, use and adaptation of inclusive and quality OER, and facilitates international cooperation in this filed). After that brief explanation, the speakers will introduce the OER DataPraxis that they developed: its contents, tools and resources.  They reflect on what they have learned from the pilot studies and share with the audience how they want to move forward with new lines of inquiry emerging from their ongoing work.
